Sun King Yuen Curry Restaurant

A must visit spot for amazing Hong Kong style curry paired with a generous plate of pork chop over rice. I came on a weekday for lunch and didn't eat breakfast before coming here because I saw how big the portions were and I didn't want to be carrying leftovers all around the city so I had a big appetite coming in. If you do come here for lunch, you honestly can portion the curry pork chop into two meals because it's that generous; I couldn't finish all the rice but made sure to finish the meat. The bowl of curry was small if you compare it to the amount of food they give you but I'm sure you can ask for more, either for free or for a small fee. The curry is different from Japanese curry and it's more aromatic and sweet; almost like a soup that you can drink. It pairs well with the pork chop that's fried; not too crispy like tonkatsu but just enough crisp to enjoy. The interior is small so expect to sit with strangers if you're a party of one. Our table ordered their beef noodles, which came out hot, which is how we like it and the color was excellent. Not every restaurant can cook it well and they do a fine job at it. Also, their milk tea was great too, but it had too much of a milk taste for me. Overall, I would come back again and enjoy another plate whenever I'm back in town visiting family.
